What’s Been Happening? Read on for all the goss…
• Introducing All Star Victory- All Star Cheerleaders is excited to welcome our newest franchise to the All Star family, All Star Victory. All Star Victory will be based in Kapiti and run by Caitlin and Julie McLeod. We wish them the very best of luck in this endeavour and look forward to seeing Victory teams compete for the first time this year!
• All Star Central gets new gym- All Star Central will be moving to a new gym, Tri-Star Gymnastics and will take the new name All Star Galaxy to mark this occasion. We are excited to see the All Star Galaxy programme grow at their new location.
• All Star Cheerleaders Coaches Conference- All Star Cheerleaders is proud to offer its coaches professional coach training opportunities to benefit your athlete. Auckland Anniversary weekend saw All Star Cheerleaders coaches from around the county gather for the company’s annual coaches conference. During this conference coaches cover stunt and tumble skills, drills and progressions, USASF/IASF rules and how to max out the competition scoresheet. A heavy emphasis was also put on safety this year with clear guidelines being set for stunt and tumble safety both within the gym and at events. Other areas covered included lesson planning, choreography, team motivation and success.
• All Star Cheerleaders Summer Camp- Well done to athletes from Pixies and Phoenix for a great job at camp. An especially great job to the Pixies who won best team Rap AND Skit, and almost had one of the top 3 highest point totals for the entire camp!! The kids all did an amazing job and seemed to have a blast at the same time. They worked very hard for the American Choreographers who came over to put their routines together.
• Team New Zealand Prepares for Worlds- All Star Cheerleaders staff are currently busy preparing your national cheerleading team, SmartMail Team New Zealand for the 2012 ICU World Cheerleading Championships. Team New Zealand All Girl and Co-ed will travel to Orlando, Florida, USA to compete in cheerleading’s most prestigious event on 23 April 2012. We wish them the very best of luck in their quest to bring home the World Championship title.
• Team New Zealand Naming Rights Draw- Valued at over $25,000.00! Want the chance to be the exclusive naming right owner of Team New Zealand- New Zealand’s very best Cheerleading team? Team New Zealand attracts regular media interest with past features on programmes such as Campbell Live and Close Up. To enter the draw it costs $250 for 1 ticket, $350 for 2 tickets, $400 for 3 tickets and $500 for 5 tickets. Please note there are a limited number of tickets available for the draw! For further information or to enter please email office@allstarcheerleaders.co.nz Entries and payments must be received by 12 March 2012. The draw will take place 17 March 2012.
• NEW FOR Hibiscus Coast 2012- We are excited to announce that Hibiscus Coast now has its own Gym name – All Star Fame. With this comes the change of team names. Panthers will now be called Idols.
• Thankyou-We would like to thank Michelle Eng for her time with Hibiscus Coast as she leaves us to work on her studies.
• New Hibiscus Coast Staff- We are also excited to introduce your new coach Tayla Ritchie, who has been involved with All Star Cheerleaders for 5 years. Tayla also works at the All Star Cheerleaders head office as an office administrator.
Class schedule
All Star Fame classes resume Tuesday 7 February 2012. Classes will run as follows for the 2012 season until further notice.
Tuesday
Idols (Panthers) – 5.30-7.30pm
Tumble – 7.30-8.30pm
NOTE-Tumble is compulsory for all Idol team members. Please also note that there is a change in class layout to 2 hours of class time and 1 hour of tumble.
Attendance
Every athlete is important and valuable to our teams so it is vital that everyone attends all practices. Family emergencies, school functions, and a few other instances are the only acceptable reasons to miss practice. Sickness, vacations and studying are just a few examples of not acceptable reasons to miss practice. Starting the second week of February all Elite athletes will be put on a 3 strikes attendance policy that will last the entire year.
2012 Term Fees
We have finalised our operating budget for 2012 and a table of our revised fees is set out below. Due to rising costs, increases in venue charges we have had to increase our fees. We are well aware of difficulties being faced by many in this tough economic climate and we have done our very best to limit the increase to the bare minimum.
In our effort to keep the increase low we are no longer offering a prompt payment discount. Fees as always, will still be due on the first week of the term. To keep our administration costs as low as possible we ask that you please pay by the due date.

Shining (1hr) $120/term
Tumble/Flight Class (1hr) $120/term (Tauranga $100/term)
Shooting/Rising (1.5hrs) $145/term
Star Elite (3hrs) $250/term
School Teams (1.5hrs) $120/term
Elite Teams (4.5hrs) $345/term
Elite Teams (6hrs) $400/term or $133/month (12months starting Jan 20th)

Uniform Orders
All Star Mystix uniforms and training gear can be ordered by completing an order form with your coach and making payment to the office prior to the cut off dates below. Please do not give payments to your coach as they can easily be lost or misplaced. All Star Cheerleaders offers a number of ways to pay for your convenience which can be found under the payment options tab on our website at www.allstarcheerleaders.co.nz Please note that orders are NOT placed without receipt of both order form and payment prior to the cut-off date.
