TERM 4 NEWSLETTER 2011
Welcome back to our rebuilt All Star Venom Gym. We hope you like and are enjoying all the additional and new equipment as much as we are. We are off to flying start again with our next Competition only weeks away and so many other exciting things coming up, read all about them and mark your diaries and calendars now!!!
The Spectator area is now complete and ready for use. Please make sure that you leave it how you found it. Please also do not run or jump around whilst using the Spectator Area as the Office is directly underneath. Please note Cheerleaders are not to use this area unless instructed by their Coach.
IMPORTANT TERM DATE REMINDERS
All Stars’ General Recreation teams run on 9 week terms and generally no classes are run on public holidays. Semi-Elite & Elite Teams normally train for FULL Terms.
General Term Dates:
Term 4: Week beginning 17th October until week ending 17th December.
Term 1 2012: Level 2 & 3 Teams Start Term One on Monday 16th January
Recreational & Level 1 Teams start Friday 27th January to make up for Classes missed Waitangi & Easter Weekends.
Competition Dates:
All Star Rave Internationals: Saturday 5th Nov (Elite teams) & Sunday 6th Nov (All teams).
2012 Competition Dates:
Rock’N’Cheer Nationals Sunday 24th June, North Shore Event Centre
Spring Carnival Sunday 16th September, ASB Stadium Kohimarama
Cheer’N’Dance Internationals Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th November, North Shore Event Centre
Uniform Cut-off Dates 2012:
Cut-off Date 5th April 2012 for Delivery before Rock’N’Cheer Nationals

UNIFORM ORDERS
All Cheerleaders require uniforms for competition and any public event. If you do not have a Uniform for the Internationals Competition on Sunday 6th November; please contact your coach urgently to organise a Uniform.
We are currently finalising our new Uniforms for next year. We have had our current uniforms for three years and it is normal practice to update Competition Uniforms every 2 – 3 years or at inception of an additional Elite Level Team.
Please note: Orders are only placed on receiving FULL PAYMENT. Orders are not placed until payment is received, so both the uniform order and the payment must be received by the cut-off dates listed above.
Uniform Costs:
General Venom Uniform: (Includes top & skirt with attached Spankies) $180
Elite Level 2+ Uniform: (Includes top & skirt with attached Spankies) $180
Uniform Sizing:
If you are unsure of the uniform size you require, please call into the office to be sized. The office is open from 10am – 3pm, Mon – Fri. If you are not able to get to the office, speak to your coach about trying on a sample set. To order a uniform please see your coach for a uniform order form, or contact the office on 09 948 5109.
LOST PROPERTY
We have a huge amount of Lost Property at the Gym at the moment!! To help sort this we have Order Forms available for NAME It Labels, part of the proceeds from the sales will also go towards Fundraising for the Gym. So please help us reduce the amount of lost property, raise funds for equipment, save you money and purchase some of these great products.
The current Lost Property will be donated to Charity at the end of Week Three of this Term, so please check for items that belong to your children.
ADDITIONAL CLASSES AVAILABLE:
We are happy to advise that we are still running additional Tumble Classes on Saturday’s with our American Coach Lio. Please note these classes are to be taken as additional practice not as an alternative to your Normal Cheerleading Class.
Beginners/ Novice Tumble 10.30 – 12.00pm – Covers up to and including Level 1 Cheernastics $120.00* per Term
Level 2+ Tumble 12.00pm – 1.30pm – Covers Level 2+ for Cheerleaders wishing to work on Advance Skills $120.00* per Term
Stunt and Tumble Safety Reminder
Please make sure you are not teaching your friends at home and school how to do these skills. This can be dangerous and cause injuries!! Bring them along to cheerleading if they want to join in. Also can all cheerleaders please NOT try and throw a tumble pass if you are not fully comfortable with the pass unless a coach is with you and spotting you. We are becoming close to competition and it will be a shame if you cannot compete because you have become injured.
COMPETITION INFORMATION
There have been a number of changes made to the National Cheer Association Competitions this year following feedback and information from Oversea Judges. Competition Information Packs are available from the office or ask your coach and include all the information you will need. If you are unsure of anything please contact us on 09 948 5109.

FUNDRAISING
Thank you to those that have helped with the Gym Fundraising so far, the gym is starting to look amazing. We have lots of great fundraisers coming up to help Cheerleaders with costs towards Summer Camp 2012, Travel 2012 and Cheer Gear, Uniforms etc.
Christmas Trees: You should have received an order for these, please feel free to pass onto Family, Friends and others that you think would be interested in purchasing one of these great trees. There are more order forms at the gym, so please help yourself.
Christmas Hams & Sweet Treats: Order forms will be coming out for these within the next few weeks. Again, please feel free to pass onto Family, Friends and others.
NAME it Labels: These great little things will save you so much money looking at the pile of Lost Property we currently have at the gym. Look for Order Forms and Product Sheets at the gym or email us for a copy.
Products we are selling at the Gym:
Cancer Society After Sun and Spray Tan: Great stocking fillers or for Secret Santa Presents. And only $15.00 per gift wrapped pack.
Tuck Shop: We have Water Bottles for Sale for $2.00, and we have also now got Snack Packs for only $5.00.
Sponsor Board: We would love to have some Gym or Team Sponsors for All Star Venom Cheerleaders. Sponsorship Contributions to the Gym would be used solely for the Upgrade and or Purchase of additional Equipment to enhance and help our Cheerleaders achieve their goals and ambitions within the Sport of Cheerleading. Team Sponsorship Contributions would be used solely for the designated Team towards Summer Camp or Overseas Travel. Sponsors would be mentioned in all Correspondence sent from the Gym, Sponsors Business Information would also be put on a Display so that Parents can easily access and support Sponsors in return.

BRING A FRIEND PROMOTION
We are still running the Bring a Friend promotion. Remember you can bring along family and friends to either your class or another class and when they join* you both receive $50.00 of your next terms fees. There is no limit on how many friends you bring! So start asking around.

WITHDRAWAL OF STUDENTS FROM PROGRAM
Should for any reason a Cheerleader wish or need to leave our program we require one month’s prior written notice as detailed on the Enrolment Form and also on each Terms Invoice. Notice can be emailed to ecb@allstarcheerleaders.co.nz and a reply email will be sent as confirmation for your records. You will be charged for a full term if notification is not received prior to Cheerleaders leaving the program.

All Star Venom Tour Information Pack for 2012.
At this stage we are looking for Expressions of Interest from Cheerleaders prior to confirmation of how we will structure a Team/s.
To be considered for the Travelling Team you must have a high quality of Motions, Jumps, Stunting and Tumble. Additional Classes are available to Cheerleaders wishing to advance their skills in preparation prior to the structure of our Travelling Team/s. Please note Forms will not be accepted unless also signed by a Parent/Guardian. Please contact me in the first instance should you have any questions or concerns. Cheer Gear Order Form, I will be placing orders with All Star New Zealand on approximately Monday 5th September and will probably not be doing another order this year.
Summer Camp is Friday 20th January – Monday 23rd January. Registration Forms will be available early November as per previous years. Should you wish to start a payment set-up earlier please let me know and I will provide Bank Account Details for this.

Please note that owing to the Rugby World Cup, and many changes to the regular school term dates, some of our term dates are different. Please keep these dates handy and in your diaries as a reminder.

NEW TUMBLE SYSTEM
We are establishing a new tumble grading system in our gym this term that will be on going throughout the whole time the cheerleader is training with Eastern Bays. There are four groups named after our gym colors. We will be putting up a massive poster in the gym with each cheerleaders name on it with the required skills to move up the different color groups and will be rewarded with a sticker under each skill when perfected. When the cheerleader reach’s the top the gym will be very excited to give them an incentive there will also be other incentives along the way. Also they can’t just perform the skill once and move on and never be able to do the skill again we will be constantly be checking to make sure they keep up the standard or they will have to move back down to that group. Each single skill will have to be mastered in the color group before moving on even if they can do a skill in a higher color.

We have also had a very kind donation of around $600 from one of our Cheerleading Families which has paid for the 352 spring’s for the Sprung Floor.
