All Star Cheerleaders has developed an innovative and exclusive cheerleading syllabus specifically for its cheerleaders. The All Star syllabus consists of 6 elements - Jumps, Motions, Stunts, Tumble, Tosses and Flexibility. The 6 elements have been broken down into 6 different achievement and progression levels- 1 through to 5 and Elite. The foundation of our syllabus is the safe progression of our cheerleaders through the levels for each element in a logical, structured way. Each term cheerleaders will work through the All Star syllabus. Credentialing/testing weekends will be held throughout the year to examine each cheerleader’s progress.
Aligned with our unique syllabus is a comprehensive credentialing/testing programme. The syllabus provides cheerleaders with something to work towards and gives parents an idea of how their children are doing with the basic skills at each level.
Credentialing is designed to provide:
A record for cheerleaders and parents-
A “report card” showing what a cheerleader has been working on, the level they have attained and also what they need to improve on to pass a particular level.
Evidence that the safety progressions are being followed-
The results of credentialing provide a record that students are working at the correct level. We are particularly concerned with stunts and tumble, and students cannot move up to the next level until they have passed the one they are currently on.
To show-off their achievements cheerleaders earn their very own “Cheer Licence”. The Cheer Licence records what levels a cheerleader has successfully credentialed. Cheerleaders also get to bring home there credentialing report sheets which are attached to their report card.
Please note testing is not compulsory but we encourage all cheerleaders to attend. Our focus is not on pass/fail but more on what skills have been attained and what still needs improvement. Testing is to be used as a guide and a path for future success and encouragement. For more information about credentialing please speak to your coach.
